Passion to Provision: Fate and Finding Purpose After Loss<\/strong><\/p>

We all have something in our core which ignites us and for me, Karen, the founder of For Pets Sake it has always been animals, nature, creativity and helping others.<\/p>

Read on, and learn how an idea that came from loss has evolved to support a wider group of people and animals.<\/p>

The Spark That Ignited<\/strong><\/p>

With a tank of ideas scribbled in notebooks that don\u2019t always come to fruition, clothing with animal related designs was an idea I\u2019d scribbled down many, many years ago, but with no purpose or direction\u2026life however, has a way of paving the path!<\/p>

After the loss of my beloved soul dog and struggling with the thought of never having him with me again, I started a fund (My Only Sunshine<\/strong>) in his memory as a way to help others on low-income with individual pet cremation costs, so they too could have their loving companions back home.\"ykpjqosdlwwqvzzmdgthdr5ifvtsmfjpzywhyffd0hqtakqv.jpeg.jpeg?w=1140&v=2\"So, I revisited the clothing idea, as a way to raise funds for My Only Sunshine, finally giving that notion a purpose. However, whilst doing research and creating designs, before even having a website, the news dropped that our local SSPCA Rehoming Centre in West Dunbartonshire, the very one I collected my Alfie from, is to close it\u2019s doors this Summer, 2026.<\/p>

Those who foster, care for, rehabilitate, and rehome animals from other smaller animal rescue organisations already find it a struggle. Those struggles may now become exponential with the impending closure of the SSPCA Centre. I felt in my heart that I needed to broaden the scope of who I was helping, and decided to not only raise funds for my own cause, but to also donate to these smaller animal rescue organisations. The weight of rescue in the area may fall heavily on their shoulders and it feels like the right thing to do!<\/p>

Building A Community<\/strong><\/p>

Transparency is important, which is why I don\u2019t want to just sign donation cheques\u2014I\u2019d like to pack my bag (treats included) and visit the front line myself, writing a blog series to take you directly inside the shelters, sanctuaries, and rescue missions your purchases support. Through these boots-on-the-ground updates, you will see exactly how your money is being transformed into medical care, nutritious food, and safe rehabilitation spaces for animals in need.
